The late Santosh Kaul, a post graduate in Political Science from Lucknow University in 1963 was a woman of substance. Born in an affluent and cultured Kashmiri pandit family of Sultanpur, UttarPradesh, the youngest of all siblings she grew up into a fine young lady with taste and appreciation for music and hindi literature.An educationist for over 2 decades she was a fiercely independent person, hard on the outside and very soft and warm on the inside. Having a modern and progressive outlook she faced the turbulent times with dignity and fortitude keeping her family together and imparting through her own actions a deep and abiding sense of duty to everyone around her.

Ignoring the rules set by society for marriage she married out of love, a handsome man who was 27 years her elder, a widower with four children. They were a very happy couple. My sister and I loved our parents deeply.Our other siblings too slowly learned to love and respect her.

Santosh Kaul through her life and actions has inspired us to set up this charitable organization in her memory to provide a means to work for the betterment of less privileged children, women and senior citizens. Ultimately the work that the foundation does and will do shall be the best epitaph for her and her values of family first, treating everyone with respect and equity, caring, being logical, persistent and hard nosed in the face of adversity and shall continue to guide us and those whom the work of the Foundation touches.
